Notes: The box is lightly glued closed and the clasp secured with a drop of glue. The box also received a very light application of mahogany stain to help even out the color of the original box, the colors of which which varied considerably from panel to panel. The back and sides of the box and the neck are finished with two light coats of water-based satin polyurethane varnish. The top is French polished. This was my first attempt at FP and I must say it was an experience from which I'm still learning. |
