Ofuna 3x10º Coated Binocular/Opera glasses, Occupied Japan
This Ofuna 3x10º Coated Binocular/Opera glasses features an unusual design in which the objective lenses are made nearly 36mm wide, but only about 19mm tall. The design allows for a very compact and pocketable optic. The binocular was made in Occupied Japan Shortly following World War II.
It's in excellent functioning condition; the focus mechanism is a little stiff, but operates smoothly. The optics are clear and clean. One of the objective lenses is chipped at opposite corners, but this doesn't seem to affect the image much; possibly because the lens is proportionally wide. The leather covering at one corner is worn away. (You can clearly see it in the first picture.) The chrome trim is in excellent condition with no corrosion.
The binocular comes with its original leather case. It's in excellent condition, with some minor finish issues on the front where someone removed an adhesive label.
